How often do you use the fitness center at your community of apartments in Pearland? Whether you use it once-a-week or every day, at least you know it’s there and that you can burn calories whenever you want.

We all know what we need to do in order to stay physically fit, but far fewer people know how to approach improving their mental health. If you’re looking for tips on improving mental health and staying happy throughout 2018, you’ve come to the right place. In this week’s post, we'll be telling our residents about habits and activities that have been shown to boost happiness levels and relieve stress. Mental health is just as important as physical health, so don’t go to the gym for your muscles without spending some time on your mind as well!

With that, let’s dive into this week’s post. When you’re done reading it, please be sure to share the link with your friends and neighbors at your Pearland apartments.

Write down 10 things you’re grateful for

You can do this once per day, once per week, or just do it once, period. No matter how often you do it, this practice will immediately boost your happiness levels. Being grateful is one of the best ways of staying positive and pushing away negative thoughts. Take some time to write down 10 things you’re grateful for, and watch your mood improve as you realize just how much positivity you have going on in your life.

Start a morning journal

Whenever you write about something that’s on your mind, it kind of works to transfer the thoughts from your head to the paper. For whatever reason, writing the thoughts down helps you stop worrying about them. We recommend starting a morning journal so that you can get all your worries out of your head first thing in the day. If you do this, you’ll be able to focus better at work and when you’re hanging out with friends and family later on. Put simply, you won’t be so caught up in your own thoughts

Call a loved one

Next time you feel overwhelmed, overworked, or worried about the future, try calling someone you love. Be it a parent, a good friend or a sibling, talking to a loved one is a great way to calm down and reset your mind. It’s easy to make yourself go crazy by overthinking things, but talking them out and hearing someone else’s perspective is a great way to avoid overthinking.

Set goals

Sometimes, in life, people feel like they’re just drifting along without any real purpose. This is a tough situation to be in, but it can be solved by setting attainable goals. It feels good to achieve your goals, but it feels even better to work towards a goal. As long as you’re working towards something, you cana void that “drifting” feeling.

We’re all out of mental health tips for this week folks, but we appreciate you taking some time out of your day to read this post! If we’ve done our jobs, you should be able to use these tips to have a happier, healthier 2018. We’ll be back next month with another brand new blog for y’all so make sure you bookmark this page so you can easily check it again when the next blog goes live on the site.
