Healthy Sleep Advice from your Pearland Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

When was the last time you remember waking up in your Pearland apartments feeling completely refreshed and revitalized? If that’s how you felt this morning, congratulations! If not, we’re here to help.

In the latest post from Stella at Shadow Creek Ranch, we’ll be sharing some tips that should help you sleep better and wake up feeling more refreshed. Getting a better night’s sleep isn’t so much about what happens at night, but rather, what you do during the day to set yourself up for a good night’s sleep.

Every little thing you do affects the quality of your sleep. From your diet to your workout regiment, the more healthy choices you make, the better quality of sleep you’ll get. Check out the post below and find out how you can fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer! Oh, and when you’re done reading through this blog, please feel free to share the link with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments for rent in Pearland.

Exercise a little earlier

Your body has to cool down before it can fall asleep, but it’s hard for it to cool down quickly if you’re working late at night. Try not to workout anytime after 7pm, or else you’ll lie awake wondering why you can’t seem to get comfortable. The best time to workout is right when you wake up, or during your lunch break if you have time to squeeze in a quick sweat sesh. If you’ve been working out during the evening for years, try switching things up and see if you don’t notice an immediate improvement in your quality of sleep!

Cool down with a cold shower

As we said before, your body needs to cool down before you can fall asleep. One way you can help your body cool down is by taking a cold shower right before bed. Think of it as giving your body a little push in the right direction as it gets ready for bed!

Eliminate the little lights

Next time you turn off your lamps and overhead lights before bed, look around your room and see if you don’t notice lots of little red, green and blue lights. If you don’t see any, you’re doing better than the rest of us. Most people have electronics in their room like TVs, gaming consoles, power strips and phone chargers.

Those things often have little LED lights on them, and those lights can really affect your sleep. If you have any light in your room, your body will interpret it as sunlight and think it’s time to wake up. These little lights can prevent you from falling into a deep REM sleep, so get rid of them or cover them up if possible!
